Lobola (Bridewealth) in Contemporary Southern Africa: Implications for Gender Equality

This volume explores the multiple meanings and implications of lobola in Southern Africa. The payment of lobola (often controversially translated as ‘bridewealth’) is an entrenched practice in most societies in Southern Africa.
